It is difficult to pick the best of anything, but to choose the Top Kung Fu Movies is certainly a very intricate task! One needs to take in the writing of the script, the acting, the directing, the cinematography, and oh yes, let’s not forget the fighting. Oh, the fighting is supreme! Some may say that I am crazy, but I truly feel that the very best martial arts film that I have ever seen is one that is known under three different names:
“Way of the Dragon,” “The Fierce Dragon Crosses The River” and in the United States was also released as “Return of the Dragon.” Describing it means that we need to utilize such words as martial arts and comedy, as well as it being an action film. Interestingly enough the film is the directorial debut of Bruce Lee, and Bruce Lee also stars in the film playing the character Tang Long. Chuck Norris plays a character referred to as Colt, and the female ingénue part of Chen Ching Hua, is played by Nora Miao. The fact that this is also written by Bruce Lee is as well startling. It concerns a young man’s visit to his relatives who own a restaurant in Italy. There he finds that they are being harassed by exceedingly vicious gangsters who are part of a nasty syndicate, and he decides to defend his family. I believe this film is absolutely great due to the incredible expressions of the fighting arts depicted that utilized amazing choreography.
Next Of The Best Martial Arts Films
The next film that I consider best is called ”Shaolin Temple” and it was released in 1982. Part of the reason why I nominate this as a fabulous martial arts film is essentially that the storyline itself is loosely based on actual Shaolin folklore. The story deals with the Tang emperor who is deceived by one of his very own generals. That general then establishes himself as the emperor in the East Capital. A slave worker’s son makes an escape, finally attaining the Sholin Temple. There he learns Kung Fu and seeks to kill the aforementioned traitor who by the way had killed his father. The monks of Shaolin Temple help him greatly and in due course actually end up saving the true emperor, and the monks are greatly rewarded. This is the debut movie of martial artist jet Li and the fighting seems to never stop throughout the entire movie.
Third Of The Best Kung Fu Films
My next choice is “Ong-bak” which was released in 2003. It stars Tony Jaa as Panum Yeerum (Ting), Petchtai Wongkamlao as Humlae/Dirty Balls/George, and Pumwaree Yodkamol as Muay Lek. The film deals with a young martial artist who chases after a sacred Budda statue named Ong Bak that was stolen from his village. This takes him to a large city where the underworld is extremely powerful, and yet he must take on this underworld in order to get the statue back. The specific skills used in the movie are called Muay Thai, and they are fantastic weapons! This film is filled with astonishing flexibility and very awesome fighting sequences that show stupendous acrobatic movements, but I will say that some of the “instant replays” of the amazing moves slightly denigrated the amazing moves, but it’s still one of the Best Martial Arts Movie around!
